Luke 19:41-44 Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem
Lord Jesus, evidently you wept because you could see Jerusalem’s fate, its destruction, but they, (the people) could not see its weaknesses. They were convinced of its holy purpose and could not imagine that your words of warning were true. How agonizing it must have been for you, with your passion and love, to see their blindness and their love for the stability the establishment offered.
O Lord, give me courage to let go of things easily, things that seem to be valuable. Help me to hold on loosely to the things of this world so I can follow you and adventure to the edge of safety and security whenever needed in order to fulfill the calling to love others for you.
